Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Search, Solve, Create and Share terhadap Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Peserta Didik

Abstract

The low critical thinking ability of students in mathematics learning at SMA Negeri 5 Mataram is a fundamental problem that requires innovative learning intervention. This study aims to determine the effect of the Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) learning model on the critical thinking skills of tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 5 Mataram in the 2025/2026 academic year. The research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a Posttest-Only Control Group Design. The sample consisted of 61 students, comprising 30 students of class X-MIPA 1 as the experimental class who received the SSCS model and 31 students of class X-MIPA 3 as the control class who received the direct instruction learning model, selected through cluster random sampling. The instrument was a posttest essay consisting of two HOTS-type questions based on critical thinking skill indicators. Data analysis used an independent samples t-test separated variances. The results showed that the average score of the experimental class was 80.14, higher than the control class at 64.38, with  = 8.0091 >  = 2.0010 (α = 0.05), thus  was rejected. The Cohen’s d value = 2.0487 was categorized as a large effect. These findings prove that the SSCS learning model has a significant and large effect on students’ critical thinking skills in statistics material.
